A significant focus of Dr. Brewer’s ministry and scholarship is healing, resilience, grief recovery, and the unique experiences of grief within the Black community. A COVID-19 survivor and widower, his personal journey through profound loss has helped shape his calling to accompany others from grief toward growth. He is also the author of From Grief to Growth: A 31-Day Journey of Healing and Renewal Through Love and Loss.
An internationally sought-after speaker and lecturer, Dr. Brewer addresses audiences on grief, emotional wellness, resilience, faith, leadership, and the intersection of spirituality and healing. His work has taken him across the United States and around the world. In August 2026, he lectured at three law schools in India on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ethical vision of the Beloved Community, exploring the intersections of law, ethics, faith, justice, and community.
Beyond his professional and ministerial work, Dr. Brewer finds great joy in traveling with his wife, Rev. Tiffany Williams Brewer, Esq., a law professor and former judge, and spending time with their daughter, Elana Joy Delacruz, and granddaughter, Joy Sophia. Whether preaching, teaching, mentoring, writing, or simply connecting with people, Dr. Brewer’s passion is helping others navigate life’s challenges, discover purpose in their pain, and embrace a future filled with faith, hope, healing, and renewal.
